Happy Dhanteras Images – Dhanteras also known as Dhanatrayodashi is the auspicious Hindu festival which marks the beginning of the Diwali festival. On this day Hindu God Dhanvantari is worshipped. God Dhanvantari is known as the God of Ayurveda who imparted Ayurveda to get rid from the sufferings of the diseases. It is believed that during Samudra manthan God Dhanvantari emerged carrying a jar of elixir on Dhanteras. Many people also worship Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi. It is believed to buy gold or silver on Dhanteras to bring fortune.
From the year 2016, The Indian Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy has announced Dhanteras to be observed as National Ayurveda Day.
