Narayan Debnath date of death

Narayan Debnath born on 25th November 1925 at Howrah, West Bengal was an Indian comics artist, writer and illustrator. With an immense interest in visual art, he is the first and only Comics-Artist in India to receive a D. Litt degree.

He holds the position of longest running comics by an individual artiste for ”Handa Bhonda”which completed continuous 53 years of running. His famous comic strips involves Handa Bhonda, Bantul the Great, Nonte Phonte.

Narayan Debnath got admitted on 24th December 2021 at a hospital in Kolkata and breathed his last on 18th January 2022 due to heart related ailments.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and many other expressed their grief on twitter.
